Simple Joys By Carter’s

The Ask

My role was to reimagine Amazon Simple Joys for today’s parents, evolving the brand from functional basics into a human, emotionally resonant experience purpose-built for Amazon. As Creative Director, my role was to define the creative north star and translate it into a scalable system that could live consistently across PDPs, Brand Stores, paid media, and packaging, without sacrificing performance.

The goal was clear: make Simple Joys feel real, relevant, and emotionally connected, while still driving clarity, trust, and conversion at scale.

The Challenge

Parenthood doesn’t look curated, and Amazon parents don’t shop aspirationally. They shop in between naps, spills, giggles, and everyday routines. Yet the category continues to portray parenting as polished and idealized, creating emotional distance and diminishing trust.

The challenge was to shift Simple Joys toward honesty and relatability without losing warmth, mass appeal, or operational efficiency. Just as critical was establishing clear creative guidelines that ensured cohesion across Amazon’s fast-moving, global ecosystem.

This wasn’t just a visual refresh, it was a system design challenge.

The Creative Direction

I anchored the refresh around one defining belief: authentic experiences define the brand. Simple Joys exists to support real life, through durable, comfortable, versatile essentials that parents rely on every day.

My creative direction elevated the moments parents actually live: unsteady first steps, toys scattered across the floor, surprise naps, snack-time messes, and the quiet joy of being present. These moments became the emotional throughline across imagery, copy, and storytelling, designed to scan quickly, build trust instantly, and still feel human.

I established a cohesive photography style, voice, and visual language that felt lived-in, warm, and effortless, never styled, never performative. Every decision was filtered through an Amazon lens: clarity, speed, recognition, and scalability.

The result is a flexible yet disciplined creative framework that allows Simple Joys to show up consistently across Amazon while remaining emotionally grounded and parent-first.
