The Ask
I was tasked with reimagining Carter’s Just One You for today’s parents, evolving the brand from dependable basics into an emotionally accessible, confidence-building experience grounded in everyday life. As the creative lead, I defined the creative vision and translated it into a scalable brand system designed to live consistently across retail environments, e-commerce, packaging, and seasonal storytelling.
The goal was not to elevate the brand through aspiration, but through recognition, meeting parents where they are and reinforcing that they’re doing just fine.
The Challenge
Just One You sits at the intersection of value, trust, and everyday need. Yet within the category, parenthood is often portrayed as overly styled and idealized, creating distance and reducing emotional relevance. This positioning made the brand feel transactional rather than supportive.
The challenge was to reposition Just One You as a brand that reflects real parenting, busy, joyful, imperfect, without sacrificing clarity, reliability, or accessibility. At the same time, the brand needed a cohesive creative language that could scale across retail floors, digital platforms, packaging, and marketing without fragmentation.
Compounding this challenge, Just One You is backed by Carter’s, an iconic brand with over 150 years of credibility in the baby space, yet its association was often overlooked or underleveraged.
This was a brand clarity problem as much as a creative one.
The Creative Direction
The refresh was grounded in a single belief: simplicity builds confidence. Just One You isn’t here to perfect parenting, it’s making the messy moments picture-worthy.
I developed a creative system defined by softness, approachability, and ease. Photography, tone of voice, and visual language were intentionally familiar and lived-in, never precious, never performative. Every decision reinforced the idea that the product supports the moment, not the other way around.
The result is a flexible, disciplined framework that allows Just One You to show up consistently across channels while reinforcing its role as a trusted, everyday companion for parents.
